Littlebourne and Bridge
Summer Program 2007
at Littlebourne Village Hall
More about the WEA...
The Workers Education Association has provided courses for adult education in Wingham, Littlebourne and Bridge for many years. Our Wingham (with Littlebourne and Bridge) Branch has been formed to present future courses in the villages.
In recent years there have been daytime courses in Music Appreciation and Literature in Bridge and latterly in Littlebourne and evening classes in Wingham on various Local History topics, Church Architecture, Art Appreciation, Practical Art and Opera. In Littlebourne this summer we offer 'Poetry of the Romantic era' tutored by Jane Ireson (Wednesdays 10am to noon starting 25 April for 7 weeks) and '20th Century Chamber Music' tutored by Dr Michael Chandler (Thursdays 10am to noon starting 26 April for 7 weeks). We do not have a summer course in Wingham but the Local History Society is running a course called 'Building the Cathedrals of England' tutored by Geoff Downer (Wednesday evenings 7-30 to 9-30pm and some Saturday daytime field trips). Posters giving more details of these courses are on display in the villages. From September we are hoping to put on a further Music course in Littlebourne and a course examining the architecture of Mediaeval Houses and a Practical Art course at Wingham. We rely very much on local support to run this programme and hope to see some of you at our classes.
