Background to the proposed development

The development is currently at stage 7 of the journey.

The current estimated cost of the Village Hall Development including carpark and public realm spaces is just under £3 million.  Once the final design of the development has been agreed, an updated cost plan analysis will be carried out with some value engineering (stage 9 of the development journey).

 

At stage 10 of the development journey the fundraising campaign can really get going.  A considerable amount of research into the funding of the village hall development has been carried out and is ongoing.

The reason that major capital grants have not been applied for is simply because the development journey is currently at stage 7.  Many capital grant providers require that applicants are further along in the process before applications can seriously be considered.  Land ownership for this kind of development is one such requirement.

Many smaller grant providers require that projects can be completed within a short timescale, so the target funds need to be within reach before these applications are made.

Grant providers also require details on the source of available funds to complete the project.  Obtaining grants is a competitive process and many grant providers prioritise projects that are at least match funded.  The more immediate goal is to get from an estimated 41% to 50% of funding towards the total cost of the development,  an estimated further £247,000 to really get the ball rolling.
